I’m being a little vulnerable here so hang with me.

In 2018, disaster struck. 

We’d grown the company from $0 to $1M+ per month in just 4 months. 

Within 12 months we went from 3 employees to 60+ and a 12,000 sqft office.

From the outside, we looked like a massive success.

Inside, it was a dumpster fire.

By April 2018, we were doing $1.5M to $1.8M per month and LOSING $200K+ per month.

We were weeks away from bankruptcy.

Everything was wrong.

Here’s just some of the highlights:

    - I had a CFO (that’s using the term loosely) who took out a million-dollar loan in my name.
    - I had a developer that stole $240K
    - I had team members stealing hours
    - One woman put her kid on payroll to syphon money into her household
    - We had people who’d just disappear for days at a time
    - My CTO quit at the first sign of trouble leaving me with 9 developers burning $130K per month and no idea how to manage them
    - And more…

I was in a special kind of hell. 

Never could I have imagined the ferociousness of business.

I had no F-ing idea what I was doing.

Every night, I would find the bottom of a liquor bottle to kill my nerves to I could sleep. In the morning, I'd wake up and find the bottom of a coffee pot just to get back to work.

If I had hair, I would have pulled it all out.

Long story short, after an 8-month legal battle, I bought out my business partner and turned things around.

After the dust settled, I looked back and asked myself what the hell happened.

When I broke it all down, it boiled down to ONE THING.

When I fixed this ONE THING, everything changed.

    - People don’t steal anymore. Instead, my team guards the company’s money as if it’s their own.
    - People don’t disappear. Instead, we nearly have to force them to take time off.
    - On most days, my team works harder than I do.

We almost died in 2018 (read the gruesome details above).

In the aftermath, I had time to reflect and realized every challenge we faced was ultimately a culture problem.

When your team isn’t aligned in service of a mission, their mission will be to serve themselves.

But what is culture?

Possibly the most ambiguous term in business.

How do you define it? How do you measure it? What’s the benefit of a strong company culture?

In short, it’s everything.

Here’s some of the benefits for you:
